Since we first started this paddle club, our mission has been to provide a safe and fun space for women to enjoy paddle experiences on the water.  As the club has grown, our needs have as well!

Board members have financed all costs associated with SMWP up until now. That includes paying for website domains, annual membership dues, P.O. Box, nonprofit applications, and then some.

SMWP was honored to receive a grant through L.L. Bean and the American Canoe Association, which covered river kayaking instructor training, along with handling all the fees associated with our Intro to Kayaking class at Fellows Lake in June 2025. Leftover funds from the grant will be used to purchase much-needed items, such as Personal Flotation Devices.
